DIRECTIONS TO JIM HOYT ~ CACAPON GROUP
Go to Berkeley Springs WV
6 miles south of Hancock MD on RT 522 (Hancock is on I-70, about 50 miles west of Frederick, MD)
OR 35 miles north of Winchester VA on RT 522
From Berkeley Springs:
- At the traffic light on the north end of Berkeley Springs (near a laundromat and 7/11) turn onto RT 9 west toward Paw Paw. (note: RT 9 goes east at the south end of town, near Sheetz.)
- Reset your trip odometer. 4 miles after turning onto 9 west you will pass a scenic vista, you may stop if you wish.
- At about 6 miles you will cross the Cacapon River and enter Great Cacapon. Go straight through town. As you leave Great Cacapon (road bends left at end of main street) reset your trip odometer again.
- 5.3 miles from Great Cacapon turn right onto Nebo Rd. Proceed to the top of the hill.
- Stay on the hardtop road past a graveyard (Mt. Nebo), keeping the graveyard on your left.
- Continue into an open area which enters a farm (Spring's).
- At the farmhouse, take a left turn onto Milo School Road.
- Go for 1/4 mile and turn right at my driveway (look for sign). This is the second house int the wooded area.
